9Migrate from Comala Apps
We’re creating a seamless migration path for teams moving from Comala apps—such as Comala Document Management and Comala Publishing—to Capable Approval and Publishing. As organizations seek simpler, more modern alternatives to legacy workflow tools, this initiative will ensure they can transition confidently without sacrificing structure or control. Our goal is to offer: * Workflow and page state mapping for approval chains and publishing stages * Automated migration tools to reduce manual setup and data loss * Support for permissions, versioning, and publishing logic * Clear documentation and onboarding guidance Capable Approval and Publishing is designed to be intuitive, flexible, and tightly integrated into the Confluence experience. With this migration, teams can unlock a better user experience and future-proof their publishing workflows—while preserving what’s working today.
Send Webhook on Approval
Enable automatic webhook triggers when a page is approved, allowing seamless integration with third-party services like Google Workspace, Slack, or custom endpoints. This makes it easy to automate downstream actions such as sending notifications, kicking off document workflows, or syncing with external systems. Use Cases: * Notify a Google Chat space when a team page is approved. * Trigger a Google Apps Script to archive or process approved content. * Update an external CMS or documentation site after approval. * Sync with internal tools via custom webhook endpoints. Benefits: * Reduces manual steps and human error. * Accelerates post-approval workflows. * Improves traceability and integration across systems. *
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Approvals
To strengthen the security posture of our approval workflows, we are introducing two-factor authentication (2FA) as a mandatory step for all users performing critical approval actions. This feature will ensure that only authorized individuals can approve sensitive requests or content, adding an essential layer of protection against unauthorized access, spoofing, and internal threats. By integrating 2FA, we’re aligning with industry best practices for secure operations and creating greater confidence in our approval processes. This enhancement will support both time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) and SMS/email verification options to provide flexibility without compromising security. Let’s make approvals smarter, safer, and more trustworthy.
Insert Markdown from Private GitLab Repos
We're adding the ability to seamlessly insert Markdown content from Private GitLab Repositories into Confluence. Whether it's documentation, README files, changelogs, or internal guides, users will be able to fetch and embed Markdown files from GitLab repositories directly—without copy-pasting or formatting issues. This feature will improve collaboration between engineering and content teams, reduce duplication of information, and ensure your Confluence pages stay in sync with your source of truth in GitLab. Support will include specifying branches, file paths, and rendering options. It’s a smarter way to bring your source control content into your knowledge tools—fully integrated, always up-to-date, and beautifully rendered.
Microsoft Teams Notifications for Capable Approvals
We’re bringing Microsoft Teams integration to Capable Approvals—making it easier for users to stay on top of approval requests, status changes, and key actions directly where they work. This feature will deliver real-time, actionable notifications in Teams channels and direct messages, keeping stakeholders in the loop without needing to check Confluence or email. KEY FEATURES: * Instant notifications for new approval requests, rejections, approvals, and due reminders * Personal and channel-based delivery, configurable by user or team * Deep links to approval items, with context preview * Customizable notification settings to reduce noise and stay focused * Support for Teams approvals dashboard (future roadmap) By extending support to Microsoft Teams, we’re closing the loop between collaboration and decision-making—so teams can approve faster, stay aligned, and move work forward with confidence.
Encrypted Data Macro for Secure In-Page Storage
We’re adding an Encrypted Data macro to allow users to securely store sensitive information directly within Confluence pages—while keeping it encrypted at rest and inaccessible without proper authorization. This macro is perfect for handling content like credentials, tokens, internal notes, or compliance-sensitive data that needs to live alongside documentation but shouldn't be openly visible or editable by everyone. KEY FEATURES: * AES-256 encryption at rest, with decryption only available on demand by authorized users * Role-based access controls to determine who can view or edit encrypted data * Inline display with obfuscation options, such as reveal-on-click or masked values * Audit-friendly logging of access and changes for sensitive content tracking * Supports structured and unstructured content, including key-value pairs, JSON blocks, or freeform notes With the Encrypted Data macro, teams can embed secure information into workflows without compromising data protection standards—perfect for DevOps, IT, and compliance-heavy environments.
Easily Compare Search Results with Visual Columns
We’re enhancing the Capable Search experience with visual comparison columns—including spark bars—to help users quickly evaluate and differentiate between similar results. When browsing search results across pages, approvals, or content versions, it can be difficult to tell which item is most relevant without opening each one. With this feature, users will get at-a-glance visual cues that make it easy to scan, sort, and select the right result—without losing context.
Update Slack Message when Approval State Changes
We’re enhancing our Slack integration to keep teams fully in sync by automatically updating Slack messages when an approval’s status changes. Instead of flooding channels with new messages for every update, the original Slack message will be edited to reflect the current approval state—whether it’s pending, approved, or rejected. This not only reduces noise, but also gives teams a clearer, real-time picture of what’s been approved and what still needs attention—all without leaving Slack. It's a cleaner, smarter way to stay informed and move faster. This update will improve transparency, reduce confusion, and make Slack-based approvals more intuitive and efficient for everyone involved.
Browse Mode for Page Tree–Style Navigation
We’re adding a Browse Mode to Capable Search that brings a familiar, page tree–style experience to navigating your content. Instead of relying solely on keyword search, users will be able to explore pages, spaces, and structures visually—just like a traditional Confluence sidebar, but more powerful and flexible. This is ideal for users who prefer to understand where a page lives in context, or who want to discover related content by navigating hierarchically rather than searching. KEY CAPABILITIES: * Collapsible tree view of pages, approvals, and diagrams * Context-aware navigation, showing where each item fits in the larger structure * Integrated with Capable Search, allowing you to switch between browse and search seamlessly * Smart indicators for draft/published status, approvals, and ownership Browse Mode helps teams find their way—whether they know what they’re looking for or just want to explore. It’s a foundational step toward making Capable feel more navigable, transparent, and structured.

6Full Support for Data Residency
We're committing to full data residency support across the entire Capable product suite. While several of our individual apps already offer this functionality, key apps—such as those in our suite offering and the Approvals module—currently lack it. This initiative aims to close that gap. With growing regulatory and compliance demands around data sovereignty, our customers—especially enterprise and public sector organizations—need the ability to control where their data is stored. This roadmap item represents our effort to meet that need, ensuring that all Capable apps can align with regional data governance policies, reduce legal risk, and build trust with security-conscious teams. This upgrade will bring consistent, transparent, and region-specific data storage options across the entire Capable ecosystem.
Apply for Cloud Fortified Program
We’re taking the next step in strengthening customer trust and meeting enterprise expectations by applying for the Atlassian Cloud Fortified Program. This program is designed for Marketplace apps that meet Atlassian’s highest standards for reliability, security, and support—especially for mission-critical use in regulated or large-scale environments. KEY OBJECTIVES: * Demonstrate enterprise-grade reliability with robust monitoring, SLIs, and incident response processes * Meet security benchmarks, including vulnerability management and data handling standards * Provide enhanced support SLAs, including 24h response time and documented escalation paths * Undergo Atlassian’s technical review to ensure stability, performance, and compliance Joining the Cloud Fortified Program will not only signal our commitment to enterprise readiness, but also unlock greater visibility and trust in the Atlassian Marketplace—helping us reach more teams who depend on quality, secure cloud apps.

It’s time to unify diagramming with the rest of your knowledge platform.
Embed Markdown from a File or Attachment
We’re making it easier than ever to reuse and display Markdown content—by enabling direct embedding from uploaded files or attachments. Instead of pasting or rewriting content, users will be able to select a Markdown file (e.g., .md) and render it beautifully right within their Confluence pages or approval workflows. This feature streamlines collaboration with developers and content creators, reduces formatting friction, and ensures that Markdown-based documentation, notes, or specs remain consistent and easy to update. Whether it’s an attached changelog, a project README, or reusable templates, embedding Markdown just became a whole lot simpler.
